It made me think of a quote from the film Meet The Parents: When the father is talking to the soon to be son in law who likes dogs better then cats and its vice-versa for the father. "See, Greg, if you yell at a dog, his ears will go down and his tail will cover his genitals even if he's done nothing wrong. It's very easy to break a dog. But cats make you work for their affection. Cats don't sell out like dogs do"

Quotes will follow but first a short story.

I was driving across the desert between Phoenix, AZ and Fullerton, CA
(southern California near Disneyland) on the day that the Space
Shuttle Columbia broke apart on re-entry and was destroyed.

I listened to the radio as long as I was in range and recorded and
wrote down some of the things I heard people say which I thought
should be posted here.

When I returned from that trip, I put those quotes on a web page.

Today, I looked at the log files and what I found is shocking.

Not one single visitor had been searching for

space shuttle quotes
space shuttle columbia quotes
columbia shuttle quotes
columbia space shuttle quotes


or any similar search terms.

Instead, these were the search terms for the past six days.

At first, I thought this was a bad thing but then I remembered this
famous quote on the subject:

"I only laugh when it hurts."

People are seeking solace in the escape of humor.

I'm not sure whether that is a good thing or a bad thing but it is
much better than 9/11/2001 when the number one search everywhere for
several weeks was:

"tragedy quotes"
